Welcome to Money Galaxy: Make Money, Save Money, and Invest Money

I have decided to move my personal finance blog. There are plenty of reasons for doing so, many of them related to what I have been learning about Internet Marketing over the past few months. To make a long story short, I have made a number of mistakes with Your Finish Rich Plan that I feel will be more easily corrected by starting from scratch. But the biggest reason is that I started Your Finish Rich Plan as a David Bach fan; promoting my website has resulted in it ranking anywhere from #4 to #6 for the keyword term “finish rich” on Google. I have no doubt that over time, I will continue creeping up the search results.

You might think that this is good news, and from a purely “search engine optimization” point of view, it is good news. The problem is, David Bach runs his lead generation business from a website whose URL is myfinishrichplan.com. Maybe I’m being paranoid, but the last thing I want is a cease-and-desist letter from this man’s legal team (for copyright infringement) once my website hits #2 or (gasp!) takes over position 1. I’d have to stop using the domain, and basically shut down my website that I’ve invested a lot in and is currently a PR3, with healthy traffic coming from the search engines.

I’ve thus decided to launch Money Galaxy, where I will cover what I call the 3 cornerstones of wealth: making money, saving money, and investing money. Your Finish Rich Plan will still be there, but I will not be posting on it, nor will I promote it. Like I said, it has built reasonable authority on personal finance related keywords and with some luck it will remain under the radar, allowing me to keep it, as well as the income it brings.

As to give you an idea of the direction this website is going to take, I will share with you money quotes that have impacted me and will serve as guidance when it comes to the tone of the blog and the opinions I will voice on it.

Make Money: “Prosperity is a way of living and thinking, and not just money or things. Poverty is a way of living and thinking, and not just a lack of money or things.” – Eric Butterworth

Save Money: “All days are not same. Save for a rainy day. When you don’t work, savings will work for you.” – M. K. Soni

Invest Money: “How many millionaires do you know who have become wealthy by investing in savings accounts? I rest my case.” – Robert Allen

There you have it. Those will be the main principles I will go by on this personal finance blog. I also intend to test a number of ideas of mine on this website. I have quite lofty goals for it and by the end of next year I definitely want to look back and give myself a nice little pat on the back, saying “Good Job!”
